Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius has been found ‘not guilty’ of intentionally killing Reeva Steenkamp, the judge in his trial said on Thursday as per CNN. Judge Thokozile Masipa did issue a verdict, and the proceedings will continue. Pistorius now will possible face another charge of culpable homicide which will be a lighter sentence. The judge ruled that Pistorius did not intentionally kill Ms. Steenkamp and so under South African law Pistorius will not be found guilty of “murder.”

Oscar Pistorius was put to trial for the fatal shooting of his then girlfriend Reeva Steenkemp, apparently thinking he was shooting an intruder. This case caught the imagination of people all over the world and today’s verdict was eagerly awaited. This case has been covered by all major newspapers and television news network.
Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius became the first handicapped athlete to compete in an Olympics event and became an inspiration to people with disability. At the age of 11, his legs were amputated below knee. He has earned several Gold and Silver Medals in Beijing and London Games.
What is the quantum of sentence will be decided at a later date but as of now Oscar Pistorius has managed to evade the murder charge.
