As the pressure to leave office of Prime Minister mounts on Nawaz Sharif, he has made it very clear that he will not be bullied to resign or leave the country according to Times of India.
While addressing the leaders of his party the Pakistan Muslim League (N) Mr. Sharif said “We have rule of constitution here and we will not allow anyone to abrogate it”. After the end of the meeting all leaders who participated made it very clear to stand behind their leader.
One thing is very clear; the agitation led by Imran Khan of Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri has clearly caught the Sharif Government in backfoot. Already Nawaz Sharif is not very popular with the military because of his own independent stand on many domestic and crucial foreign policy decisions which the Pak Army always have had the last say.
His visit to India was seen as a major step towards the civilian government taking more assertive stand on policy issues which did not go well the with the army. The situation is very grim and no one knows how long this government will be able to hold the seat of power in Pakistan because the way things are looking, the army just might side with the agitating opposition.
