SKYSLIDE- A slide for the brave

Wanna does something crazy, take a ride on a slide 1000 foot up high. Don’t believe it? This is absolutely awesome craziness. Since 1989, the 1018 foot tall U.S. Bank tower has held the title of the tallest skyscraper in the west of Chicago. And now, a new feature’s added to it- a 45-foot long slide nearly 1000 feet above downtown Los Angeles- The Skyslide.

Mind you this is not for the faint of heart. The Skyslide, is an outdoor glass slide, that opens on the 70th floor of the US Bank Tower and allows the sliders to slide across the city and down to an outdoor platform on the 69th floor. The Skyslide is a fully enclosed glass slide which is forty-five feet long, with approximately 4 feet wide of only glass 11/4 inches (3.2 cm) thick, but its strong enough to withstand hurricane-force winds and even a powerful earthquake. The ride itself takes only four seconds to complete, however, the riders describe it both terrifying and exhilarating. The riders climb on to a mat and an attendant helps them to inch forward to the mouth of the slide. The ride costs $8 (₹ 543) but is an experience like no other. John Gamboa, senior vice president of OUE America, the Singapore-based real estate firm that bought the tower three years ago for $367 million, is the proud owner of the SkySlide. The vision was to create something equally iconic for an already iconic building. Visitors will experience unparalleled views from the Skyslide in a whole new way as they glide down from the 70th floor to the 69th floor of the bank tower.

In addition to the Skyslide was also created an Observation Deck, offering some of the city’s best views, even on a smoggy day. It is the tallest open air observation deck perched nearly 1000 feet above downtown Los Angeles. It boasts of an unmatched 2800 square feet outdoor space .

But the fun doesn’t end here, there is more. There is also a Digital Interactive Level that features a variety of elements for its visitors for them to enjoy a dynamic technology experience. There is 360 degree Digital Topography Wall of Los Angeles that will have the information on landmarks, neighborhoods, and other points of interest. The Infinity Mirror creates reflections upon reflections on to the Silhouette wall which uses pixels to create reflective images based on the movements of the bodies. These exhibits were  specifically designed by the OUE Skyspace LA is sure to enrich the visitors with an amazing and dynamic experience to be enjoyed again and again.
