With the death toll of 130 children and school teachers killed in cold blood by the Pakistan Taliban the army has finally taken control of the school premises killing all the six terrorists, according to latest reports from Geo Tv. This attack is as tragic as the 2004 Beslan massacre and now Pakistan must come to a realization and conclusion about the terror threats emanating from its soil. Time and again the Pak Taliban has stuck with suicide attacks and bomb blast and now the water is over the head for the Nawaz Sharif government and the military. PM Sharif has called this attack a national tragedy and has called for three days of national mourning. He called this attack cowardly and considers the loss of all the children lives as his own loss.
Meanwhile the Indian external affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said this one in his official tweeter handle “We condemn horrific attack on innocent school children in Peshawar.” Also Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted “Strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack at a school in Peshawar.” Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai called this attack “atrocious and cowardly,” and in a statement she said “I am heartbroken by this senseless and cold-blooded act of terror in Peshawar that is unfolding before us. Innocent children in their school have no place in horror such as this. I condemn these atrocious and cowardly acts and stand united with the government and armed forces of Pakistan whose efforts so far to address this horrific event are commendable. I, along with millions of others around the world, mourn these children, my brothers and sisters – but we will never be defeated.”
US ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson also condemned this attack and said “The United States strongly condemns senseless and inhumane attacks on innocent students and educators, and stands in solidarity with the people of Pakistan, and all who fight the menace of terrorism.” British Prime Minister David Cameron said this in his official tweeter handle “The news from Pakistan is deeply shocking. It's horrifying that children are being killed simply for going to school.”
More tweets from world leaders have been pouring in the French President said “I condemn with the utmost firmness the despicable attack against a school in Peshawar this morning that caused the death of more than 80 children.” This is a stark reminder that these terrorists have no boundaries of such deprived actions. Killing children for revenge will now only make the Pakistan army more determined and more ruthless to annihilate them. But it is high time for Pakistan to reconsider and arrest people like Hafiz Saeed who has not so far spoken out against these perpetrators who have committed mass murder of innocent and helpless children.
